NBA Player Development:Atlas Terms of Use
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using "The Atlas" website (the "Service") operated by NBA Player Development ("us," "we," or "our").
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who wish to access or use the Service.
By accessing or use the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you do not have permission to access the Service.
1. Description of Service
"The Atlas" is a digital guidebook and conference companion provided by the NBA and NBPA that serves as a resource for rookie players to navigate their first year in the league. During the in-person program it carries the event schedule, session details, and the activities players are asked to complete; afterward it remains available as an ongoing reference.
2. User Accounts and Security
To access The Atlas, you must register and create an account. The login process is secured by a one-time code sent to you by SMS; there is no password. By registering, you agree to receive a text message containing a verification code at your provided mobile phone number each time you log in, and to receive the other messages described in Section 3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
3. SMS Messaging
By providing your mobile phone number, checking the consent box on the login screen, and agreeing to these Terms, you consent to receive text messages from us. These messages fall into three categories: (a) one-time login verification codes, sent when you request access to the Service; (b) reminders about conference events, including sessions, breakouts, and changes to the schedule; and (c) notifications about activities you are required to complete.
Message frequency varies. Login codes are sent only when you request one. Event reminders and required-activity notifications are sent as the schedule requires while the conference is running, and continue on an occasional basis after it ends, for as long as your Atlas account stays active.
You can opt out at any time by replying "STOP" to any message, and opt back in by replying "START". Opting out stops every text message from us, including login verification codes, so you will not be able to log in to the Service while you are opted out. Reply "HELP" to any message for assistance. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Consent to receive these messages is a condition of using the Service, because the one-time code is the only way to access your account. We do not use your mobile phone number for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any parts of the Service.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of NBA Player Development and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries.
6. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. In no event shall NBA Player Development, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by posting the new Terms of Service on this page. By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
